La Croix du Vieux Pont: campsite near Disneyland Paris
If you’re looking for a family campsite near Disneyland Paris with a pool, then La Croix du Vieux Pont ticks the boxes.
When our two daughters were aged five and three, we thought it would be the perfect time to visit Disneyland Paris. Princess-obsessed and young enough to wholeheartedly believe the characters before them were in fact, the REAL deal, we planned a trip to the theme park for March 2020, planning to stay onsite at the Disney hotels for the full experience. Of course, as you well know, March 2020 had other ideas. This was the month when the entire world shut down due to Coronavirus, and our entire trip was cancelled just days before we were due to go.
Fast forward two years, an extra family addition, and we decided at the last minute to try and recreate the trip. My husband had been away for the entire summer holidays (his brother was ill in hospital in Australia) and a hop across the channel to France to use our unused ferry voucher, soak up some sunshine and spend the last bit of school holiday together as a family was planned to see out the summer.
We’ve taken the girls camping in France before and had actually been camping near Disneyland Paris with them twice when they were tiny (with our first at 18 months, then with both at two and a half years old and four weeks old, which inspired this post on travelling with a baby and a toddler!)
Being August already when we organised the trip, many places in France were already booked up, but we managed to get a mobile home at Eurocamp’s La Croix du Vieux Pont in Berny-Rivière for a few days to follow our Disneyland trip (for the day before and the day itself we stayed at this Air BnB). This Eurocamp site is less than 90 minutes away from Paris, so we knew it would be the perfect place to have some family fun when visiting the theme park.

Campsite near Paris with a pool
La Croix du Vieux Pont campsite is based in the French region of Picardie, an hour and a bit north east of Paris – making it a handy base if the city or Disneyland are on your holiday agenda.
The campsite is jam-packed with family activities – a lake with a man-made beach, swimming pools both indoors and out, water slides, a splash park, bowling, laser tag, soft play, trampolines, mini golf, kids club…the list goes on. It’s classed as a five star site, although if you followed our campsite adventures in May 2022, it doesn’t quite meet the luxury hotel-standard of the impeccable Camping le Brasilia.
We loved the easy drive from the UK, and Disney and the range of activities on offer though, and the kids had a blast (when they weren’t being sick – more on that later).
Eurocamp campsite accommodation
Be it villa lodge, safari tent, mobile home or classic tent camping pitch, there’s something to suit different budgets and camping tastes on this campsite near Paris.
We have stayed with Eurocamp at La Croix du Vieux Pont three times in total, twice before in one of their three-bedroom Azures mobile homes, which had more than enough room for our family of five. In addition to a well-equipped kitchen and large dining area inside, there was a wooden balcony and garden area, with a baby gate available to keep those nippers from escaping, should you need it. During our first two experiences on the campsite, the mobiles we were in were exceptionally-well maintained, fresh, fairly new and well-located halfway between the pool and the lake.
We had a slightly different experience for our visit in 2022. As we booked it VERY last minute (two weeks before we visited), there were only slim pickings of accommodation on offer – a pretty rundown mobile home, located on the far side of the campsite that was not quite as pretty or convenient as the enclosed, green, hedged pitches we’d hired previously.
Although we had an enormous outside space, we complained to staff during our stay, as the surrounding garden area was strewn with old food, cigarette butts, ring pulls from cans and sharp bottle tops – really quite disgusting and dangerous with a 1.5 year old roaming around. Inside, most of the window locks, mosquito and blackout blinds and the bedside table were broken and some of the furniture and walls had big rips in them.
One night we wanted to use the BBQ, but we could not get it to work so we went to tell the staff who were very blase about the fact that we couldn’t cook dinner for our young kids. My husband explained the problem and 20 minutes later, someone was sent to investigate. Another half an hour later and another person turned up to tell us there was a restart switch on the gas canister that had to be pressed – it would have been nice to know this information in advance!
It really felt like we had been given the dregs of accommodation on site – a knackered old caravan, with no other option to swap as the site was fully booked (we did ask immediately after checking in).
This was completely different to our previous stays however, when we couldn’t fault the place at all. So, if you’re considering staying at this campsite, the moral of the story – book early and get a spot amongst the action, instead of out on a limb on the bit of the campsite which is on the other side of the road from the main site (a tunnel connects the two). We also passed on our feedback after our stay, so hopefully they have now improved this area.
The facilities at this campsite near Paris France
The facilities at La Croix du Vieux Pont are wide-ranging, so you’ll find lots to keep you occupied onsite both indoors and outdoors, which is handy if the weather isn’t great. It’s a 5* campsite according to the website, however, the swimming pools were looking a teensy bit tired around the edges. While one half of the campsite (the bit with the chalets, pools and lake), is immaculate, the further edges of the site across the road where we were staying – were slightly less tended to.
The lake
The naturally-filtered lagoon lake with sandy beach is my favourite thing about the campsite. A lovely turquoise colour, it’s shallow and calm and great for young kids who can spend hours digging in the sand, then wade in with an inflatable to cool off.
Beside the lake, you’ll find Macao Beach bar and restaurant and La Plage restaurant – an ideal combo for an easy feed and cheeky sundowner while the kids mini beach disco gets underway at the end of the day.
There are loungers and straw parasols around the lake, which are busy in peak season.
The swimming pools
There are three swimming pools, including an outdoor pool, as well as a children’s pool, family pool and spray park all covered by a retractable roof for all-weather swimming.
Inside you’ll find a jacuzzi, hydro-massage areas, waterslides to suit all ages and a splash park with water jetting out of colourful structures and fountains, which is an absolute blast with toddlers.
Plans are afoot for a new slide to be added to this location this year, and is expected to be available before high season.
Loungers can be found around both the indoor and outdoor pools, although it gets quite noisy inside, so I wouldn’t hunt these out with the intention of relaxing on. The outdoor ones are good though.
La Croix du Vieux Pont playgrounds:
If you’re looking for campsites in France near Paris with loads of stuff for kids to do, you won’t be disappointed here. There are three excellent playground areas with swings, slides, trampolines, climbing frame, rocking horse etc. Two of the playgrounds are lakeside and have loads of stuff to do for all ages (we visited when our children were 1.5, 6 and 8).
You’ll also find an area with (payable) activities for kids, such as bouncy castles and trampolining. You can buy a book of tokens to use on these and use them across the week, which I recommend to save having to queue at the bar when your little ones fancy having a go.
Camping near Paris:
Water activities
Onsite there are two lakes and a number of water activities take place upon them. While away the hours on pedalos, canoes and kayaks, steerable swans (!) which are all available to hire on the campsite.
For fishing enthusiasts, there is an area to fish for carp, bream, perch, tench, roach (although a permit is required).
Campsite entertainment and sports
Close to the swimming lake is mini golf, plus archery, basketball courts, volleyball and, of course, as it’s France, boules.
You’ll find Go Karts for children up to eight years old (smaller ones can ride on older siblings laps), bike hire, tennis courts and trampolines.
Indoor activities
One of the great things about staying at Eurocamps near Paris is, if you’re not lucky with the weather, fancy a break from the sun or are just after even more entertainment, there are lots of indoor things to do too.
La Croix du Vieux Pont has a soft play, laser tag, full-sized bowling alley and a games room!
Campsite near Paris Kids Club
Many Eurocamp holidays offer kids clubs for all ages and La Croix du Vieux Pont is no exception. Our kids can tend to get a bit nervous about going off to these, although by the end of the week they’ve made friends with the children that have been going and then end up regretting not having gone to Kids Club! Ours didn’t attend any of the clubs on this site, but there are plenty of options for all different ages, including teenagers.
La Croix du Vieux Pont has a number of Kids Clubs which run from May-September for all different age groups, plus a Super Fun Station for 0 to 4 year olds. Look out for clubs for 4-6 year olds, 6-9 year olds, 9-12 year olds and 13-17 year olds with activities such as horse riding, circus skills and junior archery.
Campsites outside Paris:
Wifi
We tend to use our mobile roaming whenever we go abroad. WiFi is available at this campsite outside Paris, but charges apply and may only be available in certain parts of the park.
La Croix du Vieux Pont Campsite Shops
For any essentials you might need, there is a little supermarket on the campsite. There’s also a bakery which sells fresh bread and pastries.
Nearest supermarket to La Croix du Vieux Pont
For a big stock up of food, which often works out cheaper, there’s an Intermarche within walking distance of the campsite.
Otherwise you can try Cora in Soisson which is huge and about 7 minutes drive away.
Camping La Croix du Vieux Pont restaurants
There are a number of eateries onsite at La Croix du Vieux Pont Eurocamp:
Brasserie Willo
Located by the swimming pool, Brasserie Willo has a terrace for dining and you’ll sometimes find live bands playing here and a lively evening vibe when people head here for a post-swim drink.
Macao Beach, La Plage
Located beside the swimming lake, the vibes here are very much beach bar. On the menu you’ll find things like lasagna, risotto, tartiflette, hot dogs, paninis, ice creams and crepes. As mentioned above it’s great for a sundowner, afternoon snack or evening dinner.
Another bar area can be found beside the trampolines, bouncy castle area, so the kids can ping about while you relax with a cheeky glass.
Berny Burger
There’s also a takeaway onsite for pizza, hamburgers, fries, kebabs, pizzas, roast chicken. Great to grab and eat back at your pitch.
Wellness Centre
On the campsite, there is a wellness centre, called WAKEISEI where you can book massages and body treatments, as well as group or individual classes like yoga. We didn’t try this out as sadly our entire family came down with a stomach bug which started in one child on the day we arrived and then proceeded to work its way through each of us, meaning we were very much tag teaming the childcare!
Laundry Point
Laundry facilities are available on the campsite.Download WASHiN app! On iOS and Android.

Final thoughts on this Eurocamp near Disneyland Paris
We’d previously visited La Croix du Vieux Pont in May half term when the campsite was slightly quieter. As with many places in France in August, on our last stay there it was particularly busy and there were a LOT of Brits, probably due to the fact it’s so easy to get to from the UK and it was peak summer holiday .
The campsite definitely looked a bit tireder than it had done in previous years, maybe we hadn’t noticed before because our living quarters had been newer, or maybe we had been spoilt by our stay at the five star Canet Plage site.
However, if you’re looking for somewhere to stay, with lots of things for kids to do, that is close to Disneyland Paris, easy to get to from Britain, this is a great option.
