Bristol Shopping Quarter’s Woodland of Wonder

  • When? 3-6, 10-13 April 2024

This Easter, Bristol Shopping Quarter’s Woodland of Wonder, look out for a new community art festival taking place in Sparks Bristol and John Wesley’s New Room. Aimed at all ages, visitors can enjoy exhibitions and nature-themed craft workshops and photography walks, plus performances from stilt-walking trees! All activities will be FREE.

Photography walks will need to be pre-booked; everything else is drop in!

‘Password Cracking’ Easter Egg Hunt Bristol 2024, Penny Brohn Gardens, Pill

  • When? 3 April 2024 (10am-2pm)

Head to the beautiful grounds of Penny Brohn UK for a fun, outdoor children’s Easter Egg Hunt (£8 per child). Seek out the eggs in six acres of gardens, meadow and woods to win a chocolate prize. Bring a picnic to enjoy in the gardens!

The Brightwell Easter egg hunt, Bradley Stoke

  • When? 28 March-14 April 2024

Families can follow trails around the Bradley Stoke area to search for hidden letters displayed on decorated Easter eggs. This year there are six trails, with the addition of a clue-based trail around Willow Brook Shopping Centre. Complete the three trails and decipher the anagrams to claim your child’s sweet treat prize! Maps will go on sale from 18 March 2024.

Easter Trail at Woodhouse Park Activity Centre, Almondsbury

  • When? 1-2 April

The Easter Bunny has hidden clues for you to find while you enjoy a walk around the beautiful grounds of Woodhouse Park Activity Centre. When you’ve finished your walk and found all the clues, head back to reception to collect your egg.

At the start/finish there will be stalls selling hot dogs, mini pizzas cooked in the new pizza oven and go kart racing, all of which can be booked and paid for in advance when booking.

The Giants’ Easter Hunt at Clifton Observatory

  • When? 28 March-14 April 2024, (10am-5pm)

Search high and low at Clifton Observatory to find the Giants’ eggs, then answer some questions along the way to win a special prize at the end.

This Bristol Easter Treasure Hunt activity costs £3.50 per child (aged 4-14), which includes full access to the Camera Obscura, Museum, and Giant’s Cave. You can purchase tickets here or buy them in reception upon arrival.

Easter Sculpture Trail at University of Bristol Botanic Garden

  • When? 29 March-1 April 2024, 10am-5pm

Entering this beautiful oasis is like stepping into a secret garden, behind whose door hides a mixture of tropical climes, Jurassic Park-style palms and English country garden vibes. Seek out a dinosaur skeleton, sculptures, medicinal plants, an African Rondavel, annnnd a whole host of exciting structures as part of the Sculpture Festival! Mosaics, stone classics, sci fi metal work, ceramics, and African carnival faces will all feature this year.

Visitors will also get to enjoy (and have a go at) demonstrations of willow weaving, pottery, stone carving and wood turning, and take a tour of the garden which will be bursting with spring flowers. 

Easter egg hunt for kids at Tyntesfield 

  • When? 23 March- 14 April 2024

Tyntesfield’s family-friendly trail has fun, nature-inspired Easter activities for children with a Victorian twist for you to do along the way, plus a chocolate reward at the end! Non-members can book tickets and it’s well worth the entrance fee to the gorgeous Tyntesfield House and grounds.

Prices are £3 per trail (on top of normal admission) which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and an edible prize. You’ll also find a couple of cafes, acres of gardens and a natural wood playground for little ones to run free.

Bing’s Nature Explorers, WWT Slimbridge

  • When? 23 March-2 June 2024

Calling all Nature Explorers for Easter days out at WWT Slimbridge. Join Bing and Flop solve activity trails, listen to storytelling, see character appearances and more.

As well as the trail, there’s lots of other quack-tastic Easter activities for kids taking place at the Wetlands centre over the Easter holidays, including family workshops and canoe safaris.

We’re going on a Bear Hunt, Bristol Zoo Project

  • When? 23 March-1 September 2024

Put this new, Bear Hunt-themed trail at Bristol Zoo Project on your list of family days out this Easter. Get ready to swish, splash and squelch your way through the new sensory trail to find real bears as well as a whole host of other exotic animals.

Enchanted Easter at Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park

For fun days out this Easter, head to Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park’s EGGStravaganza. Behold the marvel of the UK’s first Candy Cannon – a daily spectacle, shooting hundreds of sweets into the air.

Immerse yourself in the Lambing Live Event, where lambs are born every day! Join the shepherds for educational talks and bottle feeding demonstrations with pet lambs in the Maternity-EWEnit.

Easter-themed entertainment at Mendip Activity Centre

As well as Easter tobogganing, there’s a whole host of Easter outdoor activities to take part in at Mendip Activity Centre. Win your score in mini eggs on the air rifles, pop an Easter balloon with a bow and arrow to win an Easter egg in archery sessions, take part in axe throwing with an Easter twist, have a go at Frisbee golf, seek out ultra violet dragon eggs in an underground cave and find hidden yetis hidden in trees above ground!

Easter tobogganing at Mendip Activity Centre

All toboggan sessions at Mendip Activity Centre between 28 March – 14 April 2024 are Easter-themed!

Choose either individual spaces (ages 4 – 12), exclusive use of half the slope (up to 8 people, no upper age limit) or exclusive use of the whole slope for a whole hour (ages 4 – 12 only, 24 children) for your toboggan session.

Following your time on the slope, set off on an Easter-themed orienteering adventure around the woodland. Once you have found them all, all tobogganers can enjoy a free slushy and Easter egg.

No Place like home Easter Activity at Westonbirt Arboretum

Drop in at the Learning Centre to discover more about woodland animal babies at Westonbirt Arboretum. Try the new life mini-trail challenge in the trees and get creative with chick, butterfly and frog crafts.

Make sure to explore the Nature Superheroes spring family trail in Silkwood too!

While you’re there, look out for the Gruffalo characters in the woods.

The Enchanted Cave at Cheddar Gorge & Caves

  • 29 March – 14 April 2024

Embark on an enchanting journey into Cheddar Gorge to discover a magical illuminated trail hidden deep in Gough’s Cave where fairies glisten, flowers grow and eggs glow.

Help the fairies find out where the sleeping troll has hidden their precious eggs. On your travels, you’ll meet guardian fairies who hold clues to help you uncover why the eggs are important – unravel this Easter enigma and you’ll receive a treat! Keep an eye out for Richard Gough’s Golden Egg; rumour has it it’s been hidden in the caves since he excavated it in Victorian times…

Tickets include access to Cox’s Cave, the Museum of Pre-History, Jacob’s Ladder and The Lookout Tower, plus the Cliff-Top Walk for a egg-cellent day out.

Meet History – Easter holidays at Aerospace Bristol

Visit Aerospace Bristol this Easter to meet characters from history. Throughout the Easter weekend (29 March-1 April 2024), and from 5-8 April 2024, meet will be George Henry Challenger, designer of the Bristol Boxkite, and Olga Lehmann, an artist who painted incredible murals in underground factories.

A squadron of Pedal Planes, available for under 5s, will be landing at Aerospace Bristol from 2-4 April 2024, including a Bristol Freighter, Spitfire, Tiger Moth and Hawk Trainer. Budding young pilots will have the chance to sit in these small replica aircraft and let their imaginations take flight.
